Conceptual Art

When it comes to Conceptual art the idea being portrayed by the work is far more important than the object itself can ever be. It asks you to use your mind to understand abstract ideas and not just simply "follow your instincts".
As an artist living in 2013 it is hard to not see conceptual art in almost everything. When working with photography I feel at times that conceptual ideas sometimes eludes me. However this isn't because I don't have conceptual thoughts but that photography can sometimes create a barrier between the idea and the viewer. I realize that at times i need to refine my conceptual ideas when it comes to photography to make them clearer to understand or perhaps just change my own way of thinking.
